The year 2008–09 marked a significant chapter in our history. Balasaheb Kher, the first Chief Minister of Bombay State and a founding member of our parent organization Kunbi Seva Sangh, Lanje, . His descendants, Shri Vishwasrao Kher and the late Sunit Kher, wished to strengthen this legacy. Between 2003 and 2007, they visited our institution regularly and were highly impressed by our hostels and other activities.

They expressed interest in supporting a new initiative that would benefit both hostel students and the rural population. With their backing, and through their Saraswati Bal Gangadhar Kher Foundation, the "Balasaheb Kher Krishi Udyog and Prashikshan Kendra" was born. To date, the Foundation has generously donated ?63,92,399 towards this project.

A 695-square-meter building was constructed between 2010–11 and 2017–18, with architectural and technical support from Mr. Subhash Dali. The building was inaugurated by Smt. Sonavi Desai, trustee of the Bal Gangadhar  Kher Foundation, on March 8, 2015.

Under this project, 25 fruit processing products and 16 food processing products are manufactured on large scale. A dedicated sales center has been set up within the campus to sell these products, as well as produce such as fruits, flowers, and vegetables grown by the organization.

The necessary licenses for food and fruit processing have been obtained from the Food and Drug Administration. This project also provides training to women’s self-help groups in fruit and food processing techniques.
