Late Sevavrati Pandurang Ganpat Shinde Guruji dedicated nearly 60 years of his life to the service of Navbharat Chhatralaya and Samanta Guruji Kanya Chhatralaya. His tireless efforts significantly contributed to raising educational awareness among poor, Kunbi, and other backward communities. With a deep commitment to providing quality education, good values, and self-reliance to the underprivileged, Shinde Guruji worked selflessly through the institutions he helped establish.
To honour his invaluable contributions, former and current students of the institution proposed the creation of a foundation in his memory. It was decided to establish a fund of ?15,00,000 under the name “Gurudakshina.” This fund has now been successfully raised and deposited. The annual interest generated from this permanent deposit will be used to honor individuals from various fields—progressive farmers, rural and urban teachers, extension workers, agri-entrepreneurs, and social workers—through the Sevavrati PandurangShinde Guruji Memorial Award.
An award selection committee has been formed to screen applications, conduct interviews, and select deserving candidates. The following recipients have been honoured to date:
